Heart to Heart IV is a national medical education program produced by the Association of Physician Assistants in Cardiology (APAC) and the Texas Academy of Physician Assistants (TAPA).The program is designed to provide over 20 hours of the latest in cardiovascular medicine for PAs, physicians, and nurses in all practice settings. Heart to Heart IV begins with a one-day on land program in Galveston followed by a 5 -day sea venture to the Western Caribbean. All educational programs delivered during the cruise phase will be done while at sea. We already know and anticipate that 2012 will produce new guidelines and practice recommendations in key areas of cardiovascular medicine. This program will highlight those key advances with the latest presentations on coronary heart disease, heart failure, dysrhythmia management, hypertension management, pulmonary artery hypertension, peripheral vascular disease, dyslipidemia management, CV disease prevention including women’s heart health, and more. The curriculum is designed into two tracks with one emphasizing key clinical issues important to those in primary care, internal medicine, and emergency medicine practices. The second track will emphasize key practice issues for PAs in cardiology practices including workshops in pacemaker and ICD interrogation, heart failure management, basics in non-invasive imaging interpretation including nuclear imaging and echocardiography, and for all a basic and advanced EKG workshop. This program will highlight the Dr. Louis J. Novak Seminars including a Heart to Heart classic with Dr. Mort Diamond’s Clinical Pearls.
TAPA and APAC have assembled some of the best experts and speakers in the country to provide you an outstanding educational voyage! TAPA and APAC have also partnered with CruisePlanners and Carnival Cruise Lines to provide you the best all-inclusive rates for this educational adventure and your relaxing get-away to the Western Caribbean.
